KC Wildmoon launched Flight Visuals in early 2019 after more than 30 years as an award-winning journalist, including 16 years at CNN and eight more at News Corp’s Storyful. Before there was the written word, though, there was photography.
KC started taking photographs at an early age and took photography on as her main project when she joined the 4-H clubs at age 9. She won multiple awards through the years, but put the camera down as music and reporting took center stage. Years later, a foot injury lead to seeing the world from a different perspective, and KC again picked up a camera. She never put it down again and was a staff photographer in her early journalism career.
Always looking at life from another angle, drone photography came naturally. KC lives just east of Atlanta, Georgia, and travels frequently in north Georgia, western North Carolina, and East Tennessee, camera and drone in hand.
She still writes on a freelance basis and maintains memberships and connections with several journalism organizations.
KC is a member of the Professional Photographer’s Association, the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, and the Academy of Model Aeronautics. She is FAA-certified for Part 107 commercial flying and is certified to fly commercially in North Carolina by the state Transportation Department’s Division of Aviation. She’s also a graduate of the Drone Pilot Ground School in Nashville, Tennessee, and a member of Drone U. Flight Visuals is insured by SkyWatch.
